Testimonials
"I started at Get Active in 2019 doing one on one training with Mick as I had injured my shoulder. Mick trained me out of that injury with mobility and strength. I started doing the classes a couple of times a week and have seen my fitness and physique evolve over the course of the last 3 years. The classes are accommodating from beginners to athletes and allow you to work towards your personal goals, mine being able to move my body and enjoy it for a long time. I've had 2 spinal surgeries over 10 years ago so strength and mobilty are super important for me, and I'm suprised by how much I love the HIIT workouts as well. The opportunity to mix up your training each day with different back to back classes or jump in the ice bath takes you to a whole new level of fitness. Mick and his staff are supportive and friendly, keen to help you realise your goals while allowing a casual approach that is refreshing and relaxed. If you want to step out of your comfort zone and try something new I can't recommend Get Active highly enough."

"Before joining Get Active I had been training at a 24hr franchise gym and had been there for about 10 years. I stopped playing Rugby League last year and found that the weight training I was doing wasn’t suitable anymore. That on top of COVID lockdowns lead to me putting on weight which I was finding hard to shift. I’d heard about Get Active through some family and after the last lockdown I decided to try it out for myself. I reached out to Mick, did the trial, and haven’t looked back. I’ve currently lost 4-5kgs and have gained a lot leaner muscle than I’ve had in recent years. The big thing I’ve noticed at Get Active is nobody has an ego, everyone encourages and pushes each other to be better than the last session. Get Active is a community and if you’re looking to start a fitness journey or switch things up then this is the place to be. Get Active trainers know they’re stuff. Give em a try!"

"I initially wanted to train with Get Active to become a stronger and healthier version of myself. During COVID 2020, I ate a lot of unhealthy foods and drank a lot of alcohol. I was lazy and unmotivated to do any tasks through out the day. I played a variety of community sports and wanted to also improve my performance on the field. In February 2021 I changed my diet and bad habits and signed up to Get active. Since becoming a member of Get Active I began training 6 days a week. My goal was to tone my body and become fitter and stronger. With Get Active’s help and encouragement I was able too achieve this goal. My life has changed dramatically, I am no longer sleeping in dreaming of my goals, I am now waking up and starting my day with a workout. My performance on the field has made a big difference as well with my fitness and strength. I was concerned about other people judging my fitness level but Get Active is such a welcoming and safe environment to train in."

"My results have varied depending on the effort I put in. Because of Mick’s experience when I wanted to get back to footy he was able to get me fit to play a season. I wanted to run a half marathon, we did specific training for that. On the flip side he is knowledge was invaluable when I needed to rehab once I had an ACL repaired. I had participated in lots of different training over the years, prior to Get Active I was at Cross Fit and outside group training/boot camp. Mick brings a more relaxed approach to training in terms of understanding whats going on for you on a specific day rather than the exercise till you break method. I started at Get Active because of Mick’s experience in Olympic lifting, since then I have participated in group training at Get Active as well as PT sessions. I have always participated in team sports/training groups and took me trying a few different things to find my people. The crew at Get Active especially the 540am class are my people. Training at Get Active gives a good variety of sessions and that variety gives you something to look forward to. The group of people that train at Get Active are supportive and motivate each other to train to their intensity. Get active is different than other exercise I have done in my life. We balance training hard with laughter. Its a lot of fun."

"I’ve been a member of Get Active for over 6 years now and can say that I’m enjoying my membership more than ever. The variety of the morning sessions and the current morning gym crew make coming in for a session easy, fun and there’s always time for a laugh. It’s a credit to the Get Active staff , the commitment they show towards their clients, regardless of ability, agility, or age to ensure you get the most out of every session."

"Get Active is the perfect gym for someone looking for consistent, reliable and approachable trainers who are always there to give you tips to improve your workout.
The diverse range of classes and exercises means that attention is paid to all parts of the body and the sessions never feel repetitive. Boxing, HIIT and strength and conditioning classes are a great combo to complement team sport training or other forms of exercise outside of the gym."

"I started training with Get Active in 2019. I had a stint with another gym but wasn't loving it and after an injury I came back to Get Active. My husband and son were already members. Get Active is a gym where you do what you can do. Even though the classes are a mix of ages and abilities there is never any judgement, just support. As someone who is now over 50 it feels empowering to do what everyone else is doing even if you're a bit slower. I have lost a couple of kilos this year and built some muscle. Above all I love the friendships and the laughs.
It's a great place and I would certainly recommend."

"I have been coming to Get Active just over 2 years.
Originally to regain general health and fitness after living in a pub overseas for a couple of years. Now I generally enjoy the classes and challenging myself to become stronger.
Improved strength and balance
Laid back environment, open and supportive, diverse range of exercises -including weight training, which I had never really done previously and now is my favourite :)"
